What is restorative dentistry?
Restorative dentistry repairs or replaces teeth that have been damaged by decay, trauma, wear, fracture or tooth loss. The aim is to bring teeth back to health and function, while also improving how they look and keeping your bite stable.
A plan may be simple, such as a single filling, or more comprehensive, combining several treatments to rebuild worn or broken teeth and make chewing comfortable again.
Signs you may need restorative treatment
- Tooth decay, or old fillings that are cracked, dark or failing
- A chipped, cracked or broken tooth
- Teeth worn down by grinding or acid erosion
- One or more missing teeth
- Pain when chewing, or sensitivity caused by damage
- A tooth that feels weak or unstable
If a tooth is painful right now, see emergency dental care: we keep same-day appointments every day.

Restorative treatment starts from AED 600. You receive a written estimate after your examination. We don’t offer direct billing: you pay us, and we complete your insurance claim form and provide the reports your insurer needs. Interest-free instalments are available for larger plans.
Filling, onlay or crown?
The choice depends on how much healthy tooth remains:
- A filling suits a small to medium cavity, where most of the tooth is still strong.
- An onlay suits a larger area of damage, especially on back teeth, where a filling would be too big but a crown would remove more tooth than necessary.
- A crown suits a tooth that is heavily filled, cracked or root-treated, where the whole tooth needs protecting from splitting.
We always choose the most conservative option that will last, and explain why.
Our approach
We take a conservative, clinically grounded approach. That means understanding the cause first: if teeth are wearing because of grinding, we protect them; if a filling failed because of decay, we look at why. Then we recommend treatment that fixes today’s problem and protects your teeth in the long term.
Restorations are shade-matched to your natural teeth, so repairs blend in. Where appearance is a priority, restorative work can be planned alongside cosmetic dentistry.
Why treating early matters
Damaged or missing teeth affect more than appearance. They change the way you chew, put strain on neighbouring teeth and can lead to further breakdown. A small filling today can prevent a root canal or crown later, which is why prompt treatment is usually simpler, quicker and less expensive.
